Seitan Limania
The most spectacular beach of North West Crete an adventure to reach it, is probably Seitan Limania. Spectacular but very beautiful because it is located at the end of a narrow gorge coming from the sea. The waves accelerate towards the end and break on the white sandy beach like a washing machine. The waters are green blue because of the lime stones below and this delivers wonderful pictures.
The beach is difficult to find (set in Google maps) past the airport of Chania. The access is difficult and not for everyone possible, after a steep descend you will arrive at a small white beach.
Seitan Limania means devil harbor, probably because it was used as a smugglers route with its hidden access to the sea.
Go early in the morning before the crowd arrives and the shades set in around 15.00hr.
It is situated near Chania on the peninsula of AKROTIRI north of the airport of Chania.
