Lake KOURNAS
The sweet water lake of KOURNAS, surrounded by mountains, in the winter the lake collects the rain and in the summer it is used for water supply to the region.
Escape the crowds when it is very busy, most Greek go there in the weekend to relax and have lunch in one the restaurants (Lamb on the grill). You can rent a pedal boot or swim between the big turtles.
Combine the trip with a visit to Georgioupoulis and one of its many beach bars just outside of the center.
Drive a little further to Lappa next to the river bed. When it is very hot, you can relax in the shade of the big threes in the steep valley. In the many waterfalls trouts are cultivated and they are served very fresh !
