In the immediate area around Vamos you can find typical restaurants. It is worth to stay away from the villages at the coast to get a better service and enjoy the Greek hospitality.

In the local resto's you can find typical dishes for that restaurant. The owners are proud on the freshness of their products and often these are from their own garden or animals. Also the olive oil and the wine and Tsigoudia (Raki) are homemade and cheaper than beer or Soda.

Have a look at our facebook page (see links), we post on regular basis were and what we eat.

Here is a small overview of good local restaurants we can recommend with the specific dishes you will like:

Marouvas (VAMOS) ; good salads and starters, daily typical Greek dishes depending on what the market and saison offers. Good price quality ratio.

Parasia (Vamos); Well known, life music each Wednesday and Saturday (make reservations), the best price AND quality: Kouloukidikeftedes (courgette-balls) I never eaten better, Kotopoulo meliasto (chicken in sun dried tomato sauce): www.facebook.com/Παρασια-Ρακάδικο-Parasia-Rakadiko-211822108942996/

Monica's (Kafenion_Gavalochori); on the square; good price, very honest typical Greek food. Bekri Meze (Pork with delicious sun dried tomato sauce), Imam ( eggplant with local cheese in the oven), Souzoukakia (pastry filled with cheese or herbs)

Fish you better eat near the coast where there here rotation to get fresh fish. In the peak season you cannot find fresh calamaris nor octopus, if they claim it is fresh, don't believe it.: Psaros in Almyrida www.facebook.com/pages/Psaros-Almirida/240016902679994
